  1. Thanks very much for publishing this.

It lets me see my metallic blue 1989 Yamaha RGX112 that I bought as a schoolboy in Ireland for £120 earned from my part-time job in a supermarket as it was originally marketed. Very nostalgic!

The suggestive picture of the model in yoga pants (?!) on page 2 would certainly have encouraged my purchase. However, I knew sod all about guitars and just bought the Yamaha because I liked the look after it after learning a few chords on a friend’s dad’s acoustic. I wasn’t even a rocker!

The guitar still exists. Played in 1990s by my younger brother in a punk band and then rediscovered in my mother’s attic in a house move it now sits in my study in England having been given a £50 setup and a lot of cleaning. It still plays, though undoubtedly could do with lots of upgrading. The body neck and frets are great – but tuners, pickups, bridge, electronics are all fairly budget.
