This 1954 Teisco TN54 was recently sold at auction for 391,000 Yens -$ 3,500- in Japan. It’s a rarity on the market, especially in such good condition and with what seems to be the original case. A real museum piece, a real collector’s MIJ guitar.
It’s quite probably the 1st Japanese solid body electric guitar. At least, the TN54 is the first Teisco solid body electric guitar with the J-1, J-2 and TG-54 which copied the Les Paul design of that year.
By looking closely, we can guess a 2 piece solid body that looks like being maple or sen wood, set neck, rosewood fretboard, 23 frets and probably nitro finish.
